What is the traffic actually like?
Baku traffic jams twice a day, from 08:00 to 10:00 and from 17:00 to 19:00.
Heydar Aliyev Avenue and Neftchilar Avenue take the worst of it.
The same trip that takes fifteen minutes at midday can take forty at six.
Leaving the city before 08:00 avoids most of the queue.

Central Baku is a paid zone costing 1 to 2 AZN an hour.
You pay through the AzParking app or at a street terminal.
Street parking is free after 22:00 and on Sundays.
Cars cannot enter most of Icherisheher, the Old City. Park outside the walls and walk in.
