Extending a Car Rental in Baku: How It Works

Short answer. Extending a car rental in Baku takes one phone call. Ring us before the return time, not after. The same daily rate usually continues. Keeping the car without telling us is the one thing that causes real trouble.

How does extending a car rental in Baku work?

You extend a rental by messaging us before the return time. Four steps, none needing a visit to the office.

  1. Call or message us before the return time on the contract.
  2. Say how many more days you want.
  3. We confirm the car is free and quote the amount.
  4. You pay, and the contract is updated.

Most extensions are agreed in under five minutes.

When should you call?

The day before is comfortable for our Baku office. The same morning usually still works.

Two hours before the return time is cutting it fine.

The reason is simple. Your car may already be booked by someone else.

When you callChance the same car is free
Two or more days aheadVery high
The day beforeHigh
The same morningUsually fine, sometimes not
After the return timeYou may have to swap cars

Does the price change?

The price normally does not change. The daily rate on your Baku contract continues.

Two things can change it, and both are predictable.

  • Crossing into a longer band. A week costs less per day than three days.
  • High season. Summer and the Grand Prix weekend are tight.

Going from five days to ten often makes the daily rate drop.

Our monthly rental page shows how far that goes.

What if the car is already booked?

Our Baku office offers a swap into a similar car, at the same rate.

You bring the first car in and take the second one away.

With 105 cars in the fleet, something suitable is usually free.

Season pressure is another reason to call early rather than late.

What happens if you just keep the car?

If you just keep the car, the contract runs out. You are then driving in Azerbaijan outside it.

Insurance follows the contract, so that cover is now in question.

Late return without notice is also charged, and it is not a small fee.

None of this is a trap. One message avoids all of it.

Can you shorten a rental instead?

Yes, and it is worth knowing before you book a long Baku rental.

Bring the car back early and tell us why.

The unused days are handled case by case, and we are reasonable about it.

Our minimum rental is two days, so that is the floor.

Does the deposit change?

No, the deposit does not change. The Baku deposit stays at 200 to 300 USD, depending on the car.

The deposit is returned when the car comes back, not when the first period ends.

Cash comes back on the spot. A card block can take up to a month.

The detail is in our deposit guide.

One more practical point about fuel on a long extension.

The fuel rule does not restart. You still return the car at the level you got it.

Take a photo of the gauge on day one and the question never comes up.

What happens when you extend?

When you extend, the daily rate stays and a longer period often lowers it.

  • Deposit 200 to 300 USD, depending on the car. Cash or a card block.
  • No mileage limit anywhere inside Azerbaijan.
  • Minimum rental 2 days.
  • Fuel comes back at the level you got it.
  • ICBARI insurance is in the price. Full cover with a 300 to 500 EUR excess is optional.
  • Delivery to your hotel for 10 USD, to the airport for 15 USD.
  • The daily rate stays, and a longer period often lowers it.
