A review said our car rental charges in Baku grew after the rental ended. Some of what we do looks strange if nobody explains it. So here is the whole thing, in order.

What are the car rental charges in Baku?
Six charges exist: the daily rate, the deposit, fuel, washing, damage and a traffic fine.

Damage sits outside the six fixed amounts. The damage sum depends on the car and the repair.
No other car rental charges in Baku exist on our contract.
What you pay before you drive
Two of the six car rental charges in Baku land on day one.
The rent for your days, and the deposit.
You can pay the rent in cash, by card, or through a payment link.
The deposit is 200 to 300 USD. The amount depends on the car.
You leave it in cash, or as a hold on your card.
On economy cars we usually ask for no prepayment at all.
On luxury cars we may ask for a booking amount to hold the date.
The shortest rental is 2 days. Kilometres are not limited.
How the deposit comes back
The deposit comes back in cash at the desk, or as a card hold.

A hold is not a payment. The money stays in your account.
Your bank decides when the hold drops off. We cannot speed that up.
One month sounds like a trick. One month is a normal bank limit.
If you want it back the same day, leave the deposit in cash.
Keep every receipt. Check the amount on it before you sign.
The deposit is the largest of the car rental charges in Baku.
What can be charged after you return the car?
After you return the car, four things can be charged: fuel, washing, damage, a fine.
- Missing fuel. The car goes back at the level you got it.
- Washing. 9 USD for a saloon, 11 USD for an SUV, only if dirty.
- Damage that we record together when you hand the car over.
- A traffic fine from the state camera system.
Fuel and washing are settled at our Baku desk, in front of you.
Fuel and washing never come as a surprise later.
A fine is different. Cameras are slow, and it can arrive after you fly home.
A traffic fine is the only charge that can reach you weeks later.
How to check a fine yourself
Do not take our word for it. Every fine has a case number.
Ask us for that number. We will send it to you.
The number belongs to the state system, not to us.
You can look it up with the State Traffic Police of Azerbaijan.
The record shows the date, the place and the amount.
A fine is the one item on this list we do not set ourselves.
If those do not match your trip, tell us and we will drop it.
Why you may see more than one name
We have rented cars in Baku since 2023, under the autoUnion franchise. BookingCarBaku is the brand you book with, and the company belongs to Agha Group.
A franchise means the same office can appear under more than one brand.
Two names look suspicious online, and we understand why.

What to do if you disagree
If you disagree with a charge, write to our office before you call the bank.
- Keep the contract and the handover paper you signed.
- Photograph the car yourself at pickup and at return.
- Ask for the case number of any fine.
- Write to us before you write to the bank.
A card dispute takes months and often ends badly for both sides.
Most arguments about car rental charges end in one phone call.
A message to the office is faster. We answer 24 hours a day.

What are the conditions at our office?
- Deposit 200 to 300 USD, depending on the car. Cash or a card hold.
- No mileage limit anywhere inside Azerbaijan.
- Minimum rental 2 days.
- ICBARI insurance is in the price. Full cover with a 300 to 500 EUR excess is optional.
- Delivery to your hotel for 10 USD, to the airport for 15 USD.
- Cancellation on a luxury car is free until 1 day before.
- Taking the car out of Azerbaijan is not allowed.

How do I check that a fine is real?
Ask us for the fine’s case number and check it with the Azerbaijani police.
What if the fine does not match my trip?
If the fine does not match your trip, send our Baku office the dates. If the record is wrong, we drop the charge.
Can car rental charges in Baku change after I book?
No, the charges cannot change after you book. The daily rate on your contract is the rate you pay.
Are you the same company as other brands in Baku?
We work as a franchise since 2023, so one office can carry two names.
