Short answer. If you have a rental car breakdown in Azerbaijan, stop safely and call us first. Our phone answers around the clock. We send help or a replacement car. Do not arrange a repair yourself, because that bill may not be covered.

What do you do in the first five minutes?
In the first five minutes get off the road, switch on hazards and call us. Order matters: safety, then visibility, then the phone.
- Get the car off the carriageway if it still moves.
- Switch on the hazard lights.
- Put the warning triangle behind the car.
- Get everyone out and onto the verge, away from traffic.
- Call us.
On a mountain road, put the triangle further back than feels necessary.
Who do you call after a rental car breakdown in Azerbaijan?
Call us first after a breakdown. Call 103 if anyone is hurt, 102 for police.
| Situation | Number |
|---|---|
| The car will not run | Us, first |
| Anyone is hurt | 103, ambulance |
| Police needed | 102 |
| Fire or smoke | 101 |
Our line answers at night as well as in the day.
If there has been a collision, the rules are different. See our accident guide.
What happens next?
Next we ask three questions and pick a fix. Where are you, what happened, can the car move.
Then we choose between three answers.
- A small fix on the spot. A flat battery or a blown fuse.
- A tow to a garage, if the car cannot drive.
- A replacement car brought to you, if the repair is long.
Inside the Baku area this is usually the same day.
Why should you not fix it yourself?
You should not fix it yourself because you may pay twice. An Azerbaijani garage you found will bill you directly.
We cannot reimburse work we did not agree to.
Call first, even for something small. The call takes two minutes.
If we agree to a local repair, we say so and we settle the bill.
Who pays for the breakdown?
| Cause | Who pays |
|---|---|
| Normal wear or a part failing | We do |
| Wrong fuel in the tank | The driver |
| Damage from an off-road track | The driver |
| Flat tyre from a road hazard | Case by case, usually us |
Our Baku fleet is 105 cars, serviced on a schedule. Failures are rare.
What should be in the car already?
By Azerbaijani law, three things travel in every car.
- A first aid kit.
- A fire extinguisher.
- A warning triangle.
All three are in our cars at handover. Ask to see where they live.
The full list is in our required equipment guide.
How do you avoid a breakdown at all?
Avoid a breakdown by filling up in towns and checking the tyres. Most of what goes wrong on an Azerbaijani trip is avoidable.
Fill up in towns, not villages. Check the tyres before a mountain road.
Stay off dirt tracks in a low car after rain.
Our mountain road guide lists the checks that matter.
One practical note about signal. In the gorges your phone may show nothing.
Drive a kilometre back down and it usually returns.
Tell someone your route before a mountain day. Sharing a route costs nothing.
What do we do if the car stops?
If the car stops we send a fix, a tow or a replacement car.
- Deposit 200 to 300 USD (340–510 AZN), depending on the car. Cash or a card block.
- No mileage limit anywhere inside Azerbaijan.
